As a child it was always my dream to attend college. I wanted to be exactly like my cousin. She had defeated all odds and became successful so I wanted to be like her. She was the first one to ever introduce me to the idea of going to college and for that I can appreciate her. It’s hard to come by successful young women who have actually gone out to attend college so when I found out she was great with successfully navigating her education I decided I wanted to learn a little more but there was one problem I wasn’t smart and I didn’t have the money.
Now don’t get me wrong I don’t use money as an excuse as to why I can’t attend college but it is a big obstacle for me but when i found out about scholarships it changed my life in a major way. Suddenly it seemed like opportunities were endless and all the things I thought weren’t possible could suddenly be a dream come true and for me that was exciting. I was going to have a chance to be just like my cousin.
